Terrain Park
Hawksnest,
one of the most supportive mountains
of snowboarders in North Carolina, is in fact
home to lots of incredible
boarders. This creates a great atmosphere
to ride in because everyone is so
friendly. If you are just starting
out, or if you want to learn new tricks,
our snowboard instructors are well
qualified to teach, with a number of
snowboarding contest wins under
their belts. Hawksnest is also home
to a number of contests each year,
which are fun for competitors and
spectators alike.
Beginners
Tip - If you crash on
landing, get the heck out of
the way because you are in
the landing zone!
The Nest was one of the first
mountains in the area to embrace
snowboarding. The park is a big part
of the mountain, so a lot of thought
and care go into it. The Hawksnest
terrain park maintenance crew has
many years of experience and
continually strives to
make sure our terrain park is always
in great shape. The ASU Snowboarding
Club and other local snowboarders
frequently ride Hawksnest, and help
maintain and design the ever
improving terrain park.
Don't know a jib from a hit?
That's ok! Check out our "Learn
to Board" program and learn the
basics or polish your skills with
one of our expert snowboarding
instructors in a private terrain
park class. There are
also numerous hits, jibs, and
a spine spread across the
mountain for your riding pleasure.
Prior
to the 2006 - 2007 season, Hawksnest
purchased a new Pisten Bully Edge
park groomer. This new groomer has
specific attachments for terrain
park features, and Hawksnest is
always working to make improvements
to their terrain park.
