Season Passes
 Hawksnest Ski Resort in Seven Devils is offering—from now until November 2—a new promotion that benefits High Country residents on and off the slopes. Hawksnest’s Dynamic Local Season Pass and discount card is a new partnership program designed to attract people living in Watauga and surrounding counties to snowsports and High Country businesses. With the purchase of the Dynamic Local Season Pass—an unlimited season pass to Hawksnest that is discounted to $199—locals will receive a discount card that is redeemable at area attractions, merchants, ski shops and restaurants all season long.
According to Justin Grimes, snowsports director at Hawksnest who put the partnership together, “This is an opportunity for our High Country partners and us to both benefit from and hopefully increase awareness and generate excitement about snowsports and the many opportunities our community has to offer. We are pleased and honored to have our partners’ support.”
Participating partners include Grandfather Mountain, Asheville’s Fun Depot, Mast General Store, Footsloggers, First Tracks, Edge of the World, Extreme Snowboard and Ski, Farmer’s Ski Shop, Topgun Snowsport School, Bandana’s Barbecue, Bella’s Neighborhood Italian Restaurant, Black Cat, Nick’s Restaurant and Pub, Pepper’s Restaurant and Troy’s 105 Diner.
Anyone living in the following counties may purchase the Dynamic Local Season Pass and receive the discount card: Watauga, Ashe, Avery, Alleghany, Wilkes, Caldwell, Burke, McDowell, Buncombe, Madison, Mitchell and Yancey. Residents of Washington, Grayson and Scott counties in Virginia can also purchase the pass.
The Dynamic Local Season Pass went on sale October 1 and costs $199 for all ages. The pass is unlimited for skiing and snowboarding with no blackout dates for holidays or special events and comes with three free group beginner lessons.
“If you’ve always wanted to ski or snowboard but cost was a factor, the Dynamic Local Season Pass is your opportunity,” said Lenny Cottom, co-owner of Hawksnest. “Not only do you ski, board and learn inexpensively, the Dynamic Local Season Pass saves you money all throughout the region at participating ski shops, retailers, attractions and restaurants.”
The Dynamic Local Season Pass and discount card is valid at all participating partners from November 1, 2007, to April 15, 2008. Purchase a Dynamic Local Season Pass by calling Hawksnest Resort at 828-963-6561 or by stopping by the resort or at the upcoming Ski Expo at the Boone Mall on October 19, 20 and 21.
